Local painters who know the area

From the older seaside cottages and terraces of Skerries and Rush to the large family estates of Swords, Malahide and Donabate, North County Dublin has a real mix of homes. We’re set up for all of them — full interior repaints, feature colours, hallways and stairs, kitchen cabinet respraying, and weather-tough exteriors. We turn up when we say we will, protect your home as we work, and take all the waste away with us.

Exteriors that stand up to the coast

Much of North Dublin is coastal, and salt air and sea winds are tough on paintwork. We use weather-resistant masonry and woodwork systems and plan exterior work around dry weather, so your home stays protected and looks its best for years.

Our services across North Dublin

Town by town across Fingal

North County Dublin stretches from the airport up to the Meath border, and the housing changes a lot along the way.

Swords. Everything from older terraces near Main Street and Seatown to big 1970s and ’80s estates and the newer builds in Applewood, Boroimhe and Drynam. See our page for painters in Swords.

Malahide, Portmarnock and Kinsealy. Period houses near Malahide village, large detached homes along the estuary and the Coast Road, and plenty of 1970s estates in Portmarnock. The houses facing the sea get the worst of the salt air. See our page for painters in Malahide.

Balbriggan and Balrothery. Balbriggan grew fast in the late 1990s and 2000s, so a lot of its estate houses are now 20 years old and on their first or second repaint. The older terraces near the harbour and town centre need more prep on the woodwork and render.

Skerries. Seaside terraces and cottages around the harbour and Strand Street that face straight into the east wind, plus newer estates on the edge of town. Exterior paint here needs good prep and the right masonry system to last.

Rush and Lusk. A mix of estates and one-off bungalows and dormer houses on bigger sites out the country roads. Those bungalows usually mean a lot of pebbledash and long runs of fascia and soffit, which is where most of the time goes on an exterior job. The photos further down this page are from recent jobs in Lusk, Donabate and Rush, including before and after shots of a semi we repainted in Lusk.

Donabate and Portrane. Family estates built around the railway station, and older houses towards the coast. Typical jobs are full interior repaints, hall, stairs and landing, and exterior refreshes before a sale.

Common questions from North Dublin homeowners

Do you really travel out to Balbriggan and Skerries?

Yes. We cover the whole of North County Dublin, including Balbriggan, Balrothery, Skerries, Rush, Lusk, Donabate and the villages in between, and the quote visit is free wherever you are.

How much does it cost to paint a house exterior in North Dublin?

As a guide, our house painting price guide puts an exterior repaint of a medium semi at €1,800 to €3,000, and a large detached house at €3,500 to €5,500. That covers power washing, minor repairs, priming where needed and two coats of masonry paint. Big bungalows with a lot of pebbledash and fascia can sit higher.

When is the best time to paint the outside of the house?

May to September is the safest window. Outside those months we can still work on a run of dry days above 8°C, but on the coast we wait for the walls to dry out properly first.
