1. Data controller

The controller of the personal data collected through this website is:

2. What data we collect

We process the personal data you provide to us, along with some that is collected automatically:

  • Quote / contact form data: your name, email address, phone number and any information you include about your project (service type, message and other form answers).
  • Technical data: your IP address and request details, used in a limited way to protect the form from spam and automated submissions.
  • Website analytics (first-party): with your consent, we run our own analytics. For each visit we record: the pages you view and the links or buttons you click; your approximate location (country, region, city, postal area and approximate map coordinates) and timezone, derived from your IP address; your network provider and network (ISP / AS number); your device type and full browser user-agent string; the website or search engine that referred you; and your IP address. We use this only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. These records are automatically deleted after 90 days.
  • Google services (with your consent): we use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads tags. When you accept cookies these may set cookies and collect usage, device and interaction data to measure traffic and the performance of our advertising. Until you accept, they run in a restricted, cookieless "consent mode" and set no cookies.

We do not collect special categories of data, and we do not use your data for profiling or automated decision-making.

3. Purpose and legal basis

  • Responding to your enquiry for a quote, information or contact, and managing any pre-contractual or contractual relationship that follows. Legal basis: your consent and/or taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract.
  • Website security: preventing fraudulent or abusive use of the form. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the website.
  • Website analytics and marketing: measuring how the site is used, and the performance of our advertising, so we can improve both. Legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner — which you can withdraw at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

4. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and, where applicable, for the duration of our business relationship. After that, it is retained only for as long as required by applicable legal obligations, after which it is deleted. Website analytics records (including IP addresses) are automatically deleted after 90 days.

5. Recipients and processors

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. To deliver this service we rely on providers acting as data processors:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, anti-spam protection (Turnstile) and the database that stores our first-party analytics.
  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) — sending the emails generated by the form.
  • QuoteBrush — the hosted online quote widget embedded on our contact and service pages, which receives the name, contact details and project information you enter into it.
  • Google Ireland Limited — Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads, used only after you accept cookies, for traffic measurement and advertising.

These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, such transfers are protected by the appropriate safeguards provided for under data protection law (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

6. Cookies and local storage

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Nothing non-essential is set until you choose. If you accept:

  • Google cookies: Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads may set cookies on your device to measure traffic and advertising performance. Until you accept (or if you reject), these run in Google's cookieless "consent mode".
  • First-party analytics storage: our own analytics stores two random identifiers in your browser's local and session storage so we can count visits and sessions without identifying you personally.

We may also use technical or security cookies that are strictly necessary for the site or the contact form to work (for example, Cloudflare Turnstile's anti-spam verification when you interact with it); these do not require consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

7. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability at any time, and you may withdraw any consent you have given. To do so, email us at office@originaldublinpainter.ie stating which right you wish to exercise.

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal changes or changes to how the website works. We will always publish the current version on this page, showing the date it was last updated.
